The first ever Mine, Wine and Dine event recently held at the Empire Mine State Historic Park was a summer evening experience not to forget. A unique opportunity to dine outside the famous 1905 Clubhouse, guests enjoyed a delightful farm to table dinner catered by local chef Antonio Ayestaran, a wonderful variety of fine Lucchesi wines, live entertainment by Heather MacAdams and the George Souza Band, and all within the impressive Empire Mine living history park.

Empire Mine State Historic Park, located in Grass Valley, is the site of one of the oldest and richest gold mines in California. A beautiful backcountry forest showcasing eight miles of hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking trails surrounds the park. The Empire Mine produced 5.6 million ounces of gold before it closed in 1956. The park contains many of the mine’s buildings, the owner’s home and beautifully restored gardens. When visitors go down the actual shaft in the park, they will descend into a not to be missed adventure into California golf rush history!
